With a population of just under 650,000, Bremen is the smallest of the German states. Situated on the River Weser this beautiful city is known internationally for its good beer, its football club Werder Bremen, the Bremen Town Musicians (from the fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm), as a World Heritage Site with the Town Hall and the statue of Roland, and for its typical north German citizens - who Bavarians like to call "Fischköppe" (fishheads). But the old Hanseatic trading city has much more to offer:
The advantages of Bremen as a trade fair venue…
Bremen is a very compact city. The railway station is in walking distance of the city centre, for example, and the airport is only a 15-minute drive away. Our clear advantage over other venues is that the Bremen Congress Centre (CCB), the Exhibition Halls, and the cultural centre 'Kulturzentrum Schlachthof' are all located directly behind the railway station: in other words, right in the heart of the city. Everything is in easy reach! Where to go in Bremen...
  • ... The 'Viertel' is Bremen's student quarter. It is just a short walk or tram ride from the city centre. (Take the No. 10 tram from the railway station in the direction Sebaldsbrück, getting off at Sielwall). The district attracts a variety of people of all ages from the in-crowd and multi-cultis to culture lovers… www.dasviertel.de.
  • ... The 'Schlachte' is the city's culinary riverside promenade and the centre of public life, and it is where Bremen people like to meet in summer. When the sun is shining it almost has an Italian flair... www.schlachte.de
